Frequently asked questions

Everything merchants ask before installing. Still stuck? The help center goes deeper.

What does SkuVitals actually do?

It scores your whole Shopify catalog for dead stock and slow movers, checks every product for data-quality problems (a 0–100 catalog-health score), and turns sales velocity into restock forecasts — then hands you ranked, act-on-it shortlists plus reports and CSV exports.

Does SkuVitals access or store my customers’ personal data?

No. SkuVitals works from your catalog, inventory, and aggregate order data — order counts and totals, never customer names, emails, addresses, or payment details. It stores no customer personal data at all. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy and Sub-processors pages.

How does it decide what counts as “dead” or “slow” stock?

You set the thresholds (for example, no sale in 90 days = dead, 30 days = slow). SkuVitals then combines days-since-last-sale, sales velocity, and current stock value to rank the items tying up the most cash — so it reflects your business, not a fixed rule. See the dead-stock score guide.

What is the catalog-health score?

Each product is scored 0–100 across 24 data-quality checks — missing images, prices, SKUs, barcodes, weights, cost, tags, required metafields, duplicate SKUs and more. You control the weight and severity of each check, and can fix issues in bulk. See how the score works.

Do I have to change my products or theme?

No. SkuVitals is read-first — it analyses your store without touching it. Actions that do write (bulk tagging, building a clearance collection) are always something you choose to run, never automatic.

How much order history does it analyse?

SkuVitals tracks rolling sales windows (7, 30, 60, and 90 days). Without Shopify’s extended order-history permission it reads roughly the last 60 days of orders; once that permission is granted it can reach further back — automatically, with no reconfiguration.

How is billing handled, and is there a free trial?

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial and is billed through Shopify, on your regular Shopify invoice — we never see card details. You can change plans or cancel anytime; uninstalling ends billing. See the billing & plans guide and our pricing.

Will it slow down my storefront?

No. SkuVitals runs inside your Shopify admin as an embedded app and does all syncing and analysis in the background. It adds nothing to your storefront and doesn’t affect page-load speed for shoppers.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

Syncing stops immediately, and your store’s data is deleted in line with our Data Retention Policy — including Shopify’s mandatory data-erasure requests. See uninstalling & your data.

Which stores can use it?

Any Shopify store. SkuVitals is a standard embedded Shopify app — install it from the App Store or your install link, approve the read permissions, and it starts syncing right away.
